A&D Fusion
DJs Alexey and Daniel (Rio)
talk about their electronic project
TRANZINE - What is the purpose of A&D Fusion?
ALEXEY - Our intention is to expand the electronic scene throughout Brazil and someday show the rest of the world that our country also has excellent electronic producers.
TRANZINE - Where do the ideas, creativity etc. come from?
ALEXEY - We can't explain it. Ideas simply arise; usually this happens with everyday events that we witness. Let's say it's a way for us to express ourselves.
TRANZINE - What are your main inspirations?
ALEXEY - Surprisingly, our compositions were influenced by "doom metal" bands; hence the somewhat depressive line.
TRANZINE - Your music ranges from ambient to breakbeat. Is the proposal to maintain this line in future albums?
DANIEL - Maybe. Our project is open to new styles; we're considering using conventional instruments as well, but for now, they're just ideas.
TRANZINE - How has been the public's reception to the compositions?
DANIEL - The songs went unnoticed on certain occasions, which is an excellent sign. Mostly the audience vibes, screams... In both situations, the acceptance is quite positive.
TRANZINE - What do you think of the electronic scene in Brazil?
ALEXEY - It's starting to carve out its space. We have big names like Marky, Habitants, Influx, Ram Science, and other projects that are helping to conquer the electronic scene. The scene is still lacking in the country!
TRANZINE - Some say that the audience should adapt to the DJ, others that the DJ should adapt to the audience. What do you think about that?
ALEXEY - With the evolution of electronic music, numerous electronic music genres have emerged, leading in Brazil to specialized spaces for each musical style. Nowadays, we have nightclubs that only play techno, only drum'n'bass, only house, and other places that create two or more dance floors with different musical segmentations. Therefore, the general public seeks places that satisfy their search; the useful merges with the pleasant when the DJ plays what they like and at the same time satisfies the audience, in other words, the audience goes after the style that appeals to them, and consequently, the DJ plays what they like.
“DKANDLE weaves swirling multi-colored vibrant unearthly soundscapes, blending fuzzy and reverberating Shoegaze textures, mesmerizing Dream Pop meditations, sludgy Grungey tones and moody Post-punk strains, heightened with soul-stirring lyricism and pensive emotive vocalizations”
