“DKANDLE weaves swirling multi-colored vibrant unearthly soundscapes, blending fuzzy and reverberating Shoegaze textures, mesmerizing Dream Pop meditations, sludgy Grungey tones and moody Post-punk strains, heightened with soul-stirring lyricism and pensive emotive vocalizations”

- Your opinion on:

Brazilian rock - I think it's cool for bands to sing in Portuguese, but I prefer Brazilian bands that sing in English. It's a shame that so few achieve international recognition. Diesel, for instance, is much better than Creed.

Globo TV - Second only to Veja magazine. But since I refuse to have a TV at home, I feel sorry for those who watch it.

Martha Suplicy - Too arrogant to have the humility needed to run a city like Sao Paulo. It's a shame she acts like the rest of the PT party, being one thing in opposition and committing the same mistakes as other parties when in power.

Human cloning - I don't understand why there's so much fuss about something necessary. Religion and moralism are a drag, anyway.

MTV - It used to be a catalyst and launchpad for styles and bands. Today, it's a banal and empty teen channel.

Carnival - It's only good because everyone leaves Sao Paulo, and I get to enjoy the empty city.

Bush - What can you expect from a President with no credibility, elected through fraud? His motto is "USA first," can you believe it? The way he supports Israel, refuses to sign the reduction of pollutant emissions, and promotes the missile defense program is outrageous.

Xuxa - Too phoney, a hostage to the character she created herself.

Trance - Too boring and repetitive.

Abortion - A necessary option.

What's your favorite drug?
Alcohol. Gin and Tonic and Margarita.

Will the world end?
No. At least not until I die! Haha.

Pomba is the DJ of the GRIND party
(Sundays at Aloca)
and Dynamite Pub, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

EDIT 2024:

Unfortunately, Pomba passed away on 04/22/23.
Rest In Peace, my Friend.

Thank you!

- What's your real name?
André Luiz Cagni. "Pomba" is a childhood nickname.

- What do you do for a living?
I am the editor of the alternative rock magazine Dynamite and a producer of events like the LGBT rock project Grind.

- What's the most exotic place you've ever had a shag?
A nightclub bathroom, a car... Those aren't so exotic, are they?

- Have you ever been arrested?
Never. At most, I’ve been frisked on the streets.

- If you became President, what would be the first measure you'd take?
I don’t know if it would be the first, but I would propose to Congress the legalization of the use and sale of drugs (all kinds) to take away the power of the traffickers, reduce corruption and violence, and also raise more taxes.

- Do you believe in life after death?
I didn't before, but as I get older, I try to delude myself with that remote possibility.

- Are you a voyeur?
No. I don’t even enjoy porn movies. But I'd would like to be watched while having sex. I’m very bold and not shy at all.

- What's the best place in the world?
Sao Paulo at night.

- What's the craziest rumor you've heard about yourself?
That I had died. The proportion it took scared me a little. They confused me with Andre Boragina from Fates Prophecy. A great loss, by the way. The guy was really nice.
