Golden rule applied by so few musicians nowadays: Music should not come in the background, to the detriment of the commercial sales scheme.

“DKANDLE weaves swirling multi-colored vibrant unearthly soundscapes, blending fuzzy and reverberating Shoegaze textures, mesmerizing Dream Pop meditations, sludgy Grungey tones and moody Post-punk strains, heightened with soul-stirring lyricism and pensive emotive vocalizations”

Nowadays, showbiz dominates even other areas like design and architecture: the market appropriates everything to make money, so now they manufacture the design superstar, the architecture superstar... This has been happening from the late 20th century onwards. Showbiz appropriates everything for money. Music must stay out of this scheME. Not that it has to be disconnected from showbiz - impossible, as showbiz is the machine that makes music known, and it would be useless for someone to make music and leave it shelved - but the privilege must always be of the music, not of the financial return provided by the music.

We see the mainstream media contaminated by the corrupt scheme already established in showbiz, with record labels paying thousands of dollars for their contracted artists' music to play on radio programs and most TV stations. On the other hand, there are also journalists who receive favors, financial or otherwise, in exchange for articles; bands/artists who don't engage in the journalist's scheme don't receive their blessing.

Instead of most artists being concerned with the essence of their Music, they are more concerned with exposure, with the showcase of showbiz... All this just forces the artist to adapt and prune their art. This is a crime, enough of this!

Selling music is absolutely OK; but being a "sellout" to sell music is absolutely reprehensible.

Let's create spontaneous zones of freedom, communities created in the world based on the metaphor of brotherhoods that survive outside the system. In the 1950s, the last pieces of "virgin" land on the planet were appropriated by nations, in Antarctica. Since then, there is not a single inch of the planet that is not part of some state, not subject to some law.

So let's throw parties and celebrations, let's gather a group of people who are outside of this, who enjoy that music totally without commitment to the "market". There is our place... Ordinary people don't even know of its existence. Common sense is content to spend hundreds of dollars on corporatized mega-festivals whose only philosophy is to make money. We are apart from that. It's almost like a secret society, where everyone meets just to celebrate the world and life, far from the corroded influence of the mechanized and impersonal society.

But we can't live outside the zone dominated by the state, because the whole planet is dominated; let's live within it, but outside the matrix, in a parallel and subversive network. And this network is formed by brotherhoods and affinities. Since information traffic is free and uncensored, you can burrow into this world. We can indeed live outside this decadent mainstream circle.

Not that you should stop listening to the radio or reading columns of music newspapers and magazines; but have you researched about the DJ/journalist who is recommending bands if he is doing it because he liked the band or because he is being paid for it? If you have the slightest suspicion of the latter, do yourself a favor and avoid feeding from this source - it's poison for the mind! Really!! Don't submit yourself anymore to the taste of a handful of journalists and radio stations that decide what you should listen to, because what they recommend is not necessarily good, but because this recommendation is good for their pocket.

It's not impossible to live apart from this. Just don't be lazy to inform yourself about what's going on "on the outside": look outside the contaminated showbiz scheme. The Internet is here and is the best tool for this. Help yourself to help yourself!
